What Skincare Should You Follow In Your 30s

Wondering what skincare you should follow in your 30s? Welcome to the age of 30s, where wisdom meets youthful energy and confidence is at its prime! Your skin has come a long way and now it’s time to embrace a skincare routine that caters to the unique needs of this decade. As you navigate through life’s adventures, your skin may start showing signs of ageing or other concerns that require targeted treatments. But fear not! With a little self-care and some expert tips, you can maintain healthy and radiant skin well into your fabulous 30s. Let’s dive in together and discover the secrets to achieving glowing skin in this exciting phase of life!

Factors That Impact Skin Health in Your 30s

“Elastin and collagen are vital for the skin elasticity, firmness and strength. They provide the skin with structural support,” explains dermatologist Dr Dilshaad Asmal. The result? firmer skin. Climbing that corporate ladder? Or wanting to be your own boss? In your 30s the answer is a resounding hell yea! Additionally, we bet sleep is the last thing on your mind. “Sleep affords the body the time to repair and regenerate. This will influence collagen and elastin production, thus helping with skin elasticity and firmness,” says Dr Asmal. Lack of sleep often leads to dark circles, fine lines and pallid complexions.

To help “Use eye creams or products that contain vitamin C, caffeine, retinol, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, kojic acid, glycolic acid, vitamin E and K and aloe,” says Dr Asmal. Aim for seven to eight hours of quality sleep each night to allow your body time to repair and regenerate. Cell turnover becomes slower during your thirties and skin doesn’t bounce back as it once did. Lastly, proper hydration is vital in your 30s for maintaining plump and radiant skin.

Skincare Solutions For Your 30s

Taking care of your skin in your 30s requires a well-rounded and consistent approach. Here’s a simple yet effective daily skincare routine to help you maintain that youthful glow:

1. Cleansing

Start by cleansing your face twice a day, morning and night, with a gentle cleanser suitable for your skin type. This will remove dirt, oil, and impurities accumulated throughout the day or night.

2. Exfoliating

Incorporate exfoliation into your skincare routine two to three times a week to slough off dead skin cells and promote cell turnover. Look for chemical exfoliants like AHAs or BHAs that gently exfoliate without being too harsh on your skin.

3. Hydrating Toner

Use a hydrating toner after cleansing to balance the pH level of your skin and provide an extra layer of hydration. Look for toners infused with ingredients like hyaluronic acid or rosewater to replenish moisture.

4. Pigmentation

Hyperpigmentation is your biggest issue, invest in a daily dose of vitamin C. Be sure to use an antioxidant serum to help with environmental damage.

5. Moisturising

Overall, using a morning and evening moisturiser that is hydrating can keep your skin juicy and supple.
